Qualifications:
Music Therapist: Completed four year degree/equivalency in music therapy and clinical internship training in an approved site.
Board Certified by the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
Music Teacher: Proficiency in early advanced level on instrument.
Collaborative skill set and ability to work with multiple team members.
Demonstrated organizational, pedagogical and social skills to relate to clientele and families.
Preferred 1-3 years professional experience

Report to: The Director of Music Therapy and Education
Broad Goal: To provide music therapy to individuals and groups in a variety of ages and populations throughout West Michigan, and any other creative situations that may develop as the need presents itself. Provide music instruction through private and/or group lessons.
Populations Served: Elder Care with Alzheirmer’s and/or Dementia, Hospice, Hospitalized (both medical and psychiatric}, Neurological Rehabilitation and Disorders, Adults with Developmental Disabilities, At Risk Youth, Individuals with Autism, Individuals with Multiple Cognitive and Physical Impairments, Early Intervention Children with learning and speech delays
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group music therapy when needed.
Keep timely and appropriate records.
Maintain confidentiality.
Prepare for individual and group sessions with developed plans and materials.
Maintain and manage a flexible schedule.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings.
Perform all other duties as requested by the Director of Music Therapy and Education. Terms of Employment: This is a 15-25 hours a week part time position.
Evaluation: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Director of Music Therapy and Education within three months of employment and then annually, one week before the anniversary of hire each year.
