Job Description

St. Paul the Apostle is hiring several part-time assistants to work the summer care program. Summer care is open 7:30am 5:30pm Monday-Thursday and closed the week of July 4th. The start date for this position is June 3rd, beginning with training and starting with students on June 10th, ending on August 8th. We are looking for assistants to work with school age and preschool age children. This is a perfect opportunity for college students looking for some extra income over the summer. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.

General Responsibilities

The duties of the summer care assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Participates in and helps implement program activities in partnership with the lead
    teacher
  • Actively engages with the children in the classroom
  • Assists children with conflict resolution and developing self-control
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.
  • Attends weekly field trips with school age students and maintains the safety of the
    students off campus.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Over 18 years old
  • Enjoys working with children
  • CPR and First Aid Certified or willingness to be trained (employer will pay for training)
  • Blood Borne Pathogens training (employer will organize training if not yet trained)
  • Must have or willing to take Virtus – Protecting God’s Children Training (employer will
    organize training if not yet trained)
  • Must have or willing to take Child Care Licensing Health and Safety Training (employer
    will organize training if not yet trained)
