Preschool Lead Teacher – 3 & 4 year old
St. Mary’s School is seeking an nurturing, faith-filled preschool lead teacher for our 3 & 4 year old classroom for the 2024-25 school year. Your primary role is to instruct and guide students in developmentally appropriate activities while using the Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality as guidelines. Helping students to be engaged in a fun, faith-filled educational environment is key.
The position is full time and it follows the regular school calendar.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and educational qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervising and interacting with preschoolers ages 3 and 4
- Create and implement age appropriate lesson plans
- Implement classroom and school procedures
- Demonstrate knowledge of school policies and procedures
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for all students and staff members
- Promote the academic, spiritual, and emotional well-being of all students
- Remain current on educational trainings and qualifications
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed
- Work with a team of educators.
Application Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education with specialization in preschool teaching OR a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and a ZA Endorsement on Michigan Teaching Certificate OR a valid Michigan teaching certificate with a CDA
- Demonstrated experience working with children in a classroom setting
- First Aid and Adult/Child CPR certification (willingness to obtain if not already certified)
- Caring and nurturing attitude towards children
- Commitment to fostering the faith of the children
- Pass a background and criminal history check
- Virtus-Trained or willing to be trained prior to start of employment
- Complete the required State of Michigan licensing requirements prior to the start of employment
- Must adhere to all federal, state, local, diocesan, and school policies
