All Saints Academy is a Catholic school inspired by the Holy Spirit and dedicated to teaching and living as Jesus did. Our mission is to serve and partner with our families, parishes, and communities as we focus on the spiritual, intellectual, moral, and social development of our children. We are seeking a first grade teacher to join the Lower Campus teaching team as we work toward our shared purpose of forming saints to serve all.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
  • Plans for instruction with specific student objectives and logically sequenced instruction based on adopted curriculum
  • Uses appropriate material and resources for students to engage in learning
  • Uses effective instructional methods according to professional standard practice
  • Uses a variety of formative and summative assessments for understanding at an appropriate level
  • Maintains current and accurate records while maintaining confidentiality regarding school matters
  • Practices positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom and contacts parents when necessary for either academic or behavioral concerns
  • Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese or school administration
  • Attends school-wide functions and special events as required
  • Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support instructional planning
  • Keeps the Principal informed of areas of need and concern
  • Acts as a witness to the Gospel values and provide opportunities for students to celebrate faith, learning, loving, and serving
  • Demonstrates professional work habits by regular attendance, honoring schedules/deadlines, organizing work, and conducting assigned tasks in an effective and efficient manner
  • Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degrees from accredited university
  • Valid MI teaching certificate
  • Upholds the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Actively working towards (willingness to obtain), or holding a Diocesan Catechesis Certificate
  • Proficient usage and integration of technology in the classroom setting
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
  • VIRTUS trained or willing to complete prior to start date
