Director of Teaching and Learning

Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic School is seeking a committed Catholic leader in the administrative role of Director of Teaching and Learning to begin June, 2024.  

We are looking for an individual to  provide instructional leadership to teachers, maintain excellent academic standards, monitor academic achievement in regards to standardized tests, and actively support teachers in overcoming any challenges in their role. This person will need to take on tasks as they arise, manage administrative responsibilities such as but not limited to – teacher coaching, managing Title dollars, planning professional development, attending board meetings and other duties as assigned. This person will also be a part of an administrative team where collaboration and partnership are important for the betterment of the teachers, staff, and school community. The position reports to the Saint Thomas school principal. This is a full-time position. 

Qualifications

• A practicing Catholic who openly lives their faith life to its fullest
• A Master’s Degree in the field of education or a minimum of two years in a school leadership role
• A minimum of three years teaching experience, elementary teaching experience preferred

• Ability to model and support the Saint Thomas  school mission – A Dynamic Education Centered in Christ.
• Commitment to high quality dynamic education and the Catholic formation of all students
• Commitment to consistent student growth in standardized testing (MAPS, AIMS, ACRE) 
• Capable of providing support for a faculty and staff of more than 35 individuals
• Knowledge of and experience in teacher evaluation 
• Demonstrated experience in a variety of leadership and management roles
• Ability to establish rapport with students, parents, and faculty
• Expertise in oral and written communication
