Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and strategic thinker to fill the role of Communications Coordinator. This role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing the communications and marketing strategies for the Leadership Formation Institute at the Catholic Information Center. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills to enhance the visibility and engagement of the Institute’s programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute communication strategies to promote Institute programs and events. Collaborate with the Director of Programs and Institutes to align communication strategies with the overall mission and goals of the Catholic Information Center.

Content Creation and Management: Develop promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and videos. Create compelling content for various platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, and press releases.

Social Media Management: Plan and execute social media campaigns to enhance the Institute’s online presence. Monitor social media trends and analytics to improve engagement and reach.

Community Outreach and Promotion: Foster and maintain relationships with media outlets, stakeholders, and diocesan partners. Represent the Institute at events and conferences to network and increase visibility.

Administrative Tasks: Maintain media contact lists and track media coverage. Handle other routine administrative duties related to communication activities.

Internal Communications: Collaborate with staff and program teams to ensure consistent messaging. Develop internal updates to keep staff informed about upcoming programs and initiatives.

Continuous Improvement: Track and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns. Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a similar role.

Excellent writing and editing skills.

Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.

Strong understanding of Catholic doctrine and practice, with a commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency is preferred.

Experience with graphic design and video editing software is preferred.

Experience in event planning and coordination is a plus.

Benefits:

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience. The base starting salary is approximately $41,600 per year.

Work Environment:

The typical work week is Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with some evenings and occasional weekends to accommodate program schedules. Hybrid work environment with both on-site and remote work opportunities.
