Blessings and congratulations to Bishop Raica and to the faithful of the Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama as they welcome him!
Bishop Steven J. Raica’s appointment by Pope Francis as the fifth bishop of Birmingham, was announced March 25. Bishop Raica of the Diocese of Gaylord succeeds Bishop Robert J. Baker whose resignation upon reaching age 75, according to Canon law, was accepted by the pope.
