Reverend Donald Edward Weber, age 92, entered eternal life on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024.

Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial:
Monday, Oct. 28 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to Mass.
Bishop David Walkowiak presided and Father Steven Cron gave the homily. A luncheon followed in the parish hall.
There was a private burial ceremony.
Obituary
Father Weber was born on January 26, 1932, in New Salem, Michigan, son of Harry and Rose (née Smith) Weber.
Father Weber attended St. Mary elementary school in New Salem, St. Joseph Seminary in Grand Rapids, Seminary of Philosophy in Montreal, Canada, and Assumption Seminary in San Antonio, Texas. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 24, 1958, by Bishop Allen J. Babcock at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew.
In May 1958, Father Weber was appointed parochial vicar of St. Bartholomew in Newaygo; in September 1963, appointed parochial vicar of Our Lady of Grace in Muskegon; in September 1965, appointed parochial vicar of Sacred Heart in Muskegon Heights; in July 1967, appointed canonical administrator of Watson Mission of the Sacred Heart in Allegan; in September 1970, appointed pastor of Our Lady of Grace in Muskegon; in June 1974, appointed pastor of St. Patrick in Portland; in June 1983, appointed pastor of St. Francis de Sales in Holland; in July 1993, appointed pastor of Holy Name of Jesus in Wyoming; in November 1997, appointed Vicar for Priests.
He continued to serve as Vicar for Priests after being granted senior priest status on June 30, 2003. In November 2008, he was appointed canonical administrator of the Basilica of Saint Adalbert; in September 2012, appointed canonical administrator of St. Patrick in Portland; in October 2017, appointed canonical administrator of St. Bartholomew in Newaygo and St. Joseph in White Cloud; in August 2018, appointed canonical administrator of Holy Redeemer in Jenison. He returned to senior priest status on July 1, 2019.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Please keep Father Don and his family in your prayers.
