Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan is seeking qualified candidates for an Admissions Assistant position.

General Description

This part-time position is responsible for assisting the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management in all aspects of admission and enrollment for Catholic Central High School. The Admissions Assistant reports to the Director of Enrollment Management. The Admissions Assistant works 20-25 hours per week and follows the diocesan employee calendar.

Position Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Previous experience in admissions, sales, marketing, or office work (preferably in an educational institution)
  • Passion for aiding and promoting a “best in class” experience for prospective students and families
  • A commitment to the mission of the Catholic Church and catholic education
  • Familiarity with Catholic Central High School
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with students, parents, and community members
  • Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Apps, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Comfort with planning and executing events
  • Driven to achieve goals
  • Flexibility of work schedule to accommodate occasional weekend or evening events

Major Responsibilities

  • Interacts with prospective students, parents, and other school professionals in regard to the Catholic Central admissions process
  • Become an expert in Catholic Central’s Admissions and Enrollment processes
  • Corresponds with various audiences and constituencies in a timely manner
  • Answers admissions platform questions to assist prospective students and families
  • Assists in the training and management of Parent Ambassadors and Student Ambassadors
  • Helps plan and execute admissions events, such as (but not limited to): Fall Open House, Information Nights, Welcoming Events, Shadow Days
  • Promotes admissions events through various channels
  • Attends partner school events, as needed
  • Orders and distributes Admissions promotional materials
  • Coordinates transportation of partner school students for several CC events
  • Works occasional evenings and weekends, as needed
  • Supports the Mission, Core Values, and Vision of Catholic Central High School
  • Represents Catholic Central High School in the most favorable light in all stakeholder interactions
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management

Catholic Central High School is rich in both history and tradition. Founded in 1906 by Bishop Henry Richter and the Dominican Sisters, it is the oldest Catholic, coeducational, diocesan high school in the United States. It draws and benefits from a culturally diverse student body of 570 students, grades 9-12. Since being established, over 21,000 students have graduated from Catholic Central, many of whom still serve our community today.
