The plenary began with an address by the Papal Nuncio to the United States, Cardinal Christophe Pierre. The bishops heard from Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, president of the USCCB. Prior to the public sessions, the bishops spent time in prayer and fraternal dialogue with one another.

During the plenary, the bishops received updates on various issues and initiatives. The meeting agenda included updates on: the Committee on Migration; the bishops’ national mental health campaign; the Synod on Synodality; the Task Force for a National Directory for Instituted Ministries; the National Eucharistic Revival and the National Eucharistic Congress; and the National Review Board. The bishops also held a consultation on opening the cause for beatification and canonization of Adele Brise (OSV News). View the complete public session agenda.
Votes took place on a number of action items and the bishops also reflected on positioning the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) for the future.
