Superintendent of Catholic Schools David Faber announced last May that this school year will be his final one as superintendent. We are grateful for the many ways in which he has positioned the diocese as a national leader in Catholic school education.
The Diocese of Grand Rapids has initiated a search for a new superintendent. Please see below for details.
Dear friends of Catholic schools,
I write to provide an important update regarding the search for our next superintendent of Catholic schools. As you may recall from my earlier letter, we had initially engaged Partners in Mission School Leadership Search Solutions to assist us in this search. However, after careful consideration and consultation, we have decided to take the search process in-house and are conducting the search utilizing internal diocesan resources. This change will allow us to better serve the unique needs of our diocese.
The search has been making progress and candidates are coming forward. We continue in the recruitment phase and have renewed our postings across our internal and external networks – locally, regionally and nationally. Following the Advent and Christmas seasons we will regroup with the search committee to begin screening and interviewing candidates. While we work diligently on this new path, we remain committed to ensuring a thorough and prayerful process.
We are still focused on securing a new superintendent in early 2025, with a start date in July 2025. As always, we are grateful for your ongoing prayers and support during this important transition. I will continue to keep you informed as our search progresses, and I invite you to join us in praying that the Lord guides us to the right person to lead Catholic schools in our diocese.

Respectfully in Christ,
Rev. Msgr. William Duncan
