Sunday of the Word of God is January 21
The word of God is alive, here and now. Through Scripture Jesus speaks to us, right now, in this time and place. In the midst of our lives, God’s word is given to each of us to bring peace, comfort and guidance and to build communion among the members of the family of faith.

What is The Sunday of the Word of God about?
In his apostolic letter, Aperuit illis, instituting “The Sunday of the Word of God,” released on September 30, 2019, Pope Francis wrote of the “great importance of the word of God for everyday living.” The Pope’s intention was to designate a day to be observed annually, dedicated to the celebration, reflection and dissemination of the Word – this year on January 21.
