Students from across the Diocese of Grand Rapids came together via livestream for the second annual all-school Rosary on Oct. 7, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and World Rosary Day.

Graciously hosted by Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic School in Grand Rapids, the gathering was a beautiful opportunity for students, educators, and our Catholic community to unite in faith and prayer with Bishop Walkowiak.

Whether onsite or participating virtually, students prayed and reflected on the powerful gift of turning to Mary and entrusting ourselves to her intercession. As St. Francis de Sales reminds us:

“The greatest method of praying is to pray the Rosary. It is a method filled with holy simplicity yet profound power. It focuses our mind on the mysteries of salvation and places our heart in the hands of Mary, who shapes it gently in the likeness of her Son. Every Hail Mary is a gentle knock at the door of heaven, where the Blessed Mother herself answers, ready to shower us with graces. Those who persevere in this devotion will find themselves guided, protected, and consoled at every step of their earthly journey.”

It is always such a blessing to see students connected in prayer and growing together in faith! We are grateful to everyone who helped make this special celebration possible.

This new tradition began in May 2026 and was first hosted by Holy Spirit Catholic School and Parish. The Office of Catholic Schools hopes to continue annual rosary gatherings across the Diocese of Grand Rapids and at other school sites in the years to come.
