Who is leading this process?
The diocese is working with Meitler consultants from Wisconsin. Meitler conducts this type of work nationwide and they are familiar with our diocese due to previous work here.
What is the timeline?
Initial meetings are currently ongoing within the deaneries of the diocese. The study will conclude in June 2025 when Meitler’s findings are presented to Bishop Walkowiak.
How can I be involved?
Please pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit as we participate in this process. The goal of this process is to provide fertile ground for the Holy Spirit to work in and through the institutions of our diocese to further bring the Catholic faith to life.
Will parishes be merged, clustered, or closed as an outcome of this planning process?
Future outcomes of this plan have not been decided at this point. The goal of this process is to take an informed and data-driven look at both critical realities and opportunities for growth and evangelization within the Diocese of Grand Rapids.
