Led by Father Stephen Durkee, director of the Office of Priestly Vocations, our diocesan seminarians will gather Aug. 6-9 for their annual convocation – a time of prayer, including daily Mass, community service, and fellowship before they resume their studies this fall at Saint John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois. The convocation also includes informational presentations by members of the clergy and diocesan staff.
We are pleased to share that the number of seminarians in formation for our diocese will grow by five men this fall with the addition of the following individuals: Anthony Duong (Our Lady of La-Vang Parish, Wyoming), Matthew Critchell (Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Rockford), Mark Musgrave (Basilica of St. Adalbert Parish, Grand Rapids), Luke Norton (Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Rockford) and Payton Russman (St. Patrick Parish, Portland).
Bishop David Walkowiak and Monsignor William Duncan, vicar general, will join the seminarians on Tuesday evening, Aug. 6 for dinner and Mass.
Please hold our seminarians in prayer as they gather this month and as they continue their formation and studies throughout the coming year. (Prayers for vocations)
