Father Dat Q. Tran, CSP, has been named rector of the Cathedral of Saint Andrew and director of the Catholic Information Center, Grand Rapids.
Father Tran begins his new role on July 1, succeeding Father René Constanza, CSP, who was elected president of the Paulist Fathers on June 7.
For the past six years, Father Tran has served as Paulist Vocation Director at the order’s New York City headquarters. His past assignments include associate pastor of St. Paul the Apostle in Los Angeles; and associate pastor and campus minister at Newman Hall/Holy Spirit Parish in Berkeley, California.
Father Tran was born in Vietnam and escaped with his family to America when he was a young child. He grew up in northern California and graduated from the University of California in Berkeley.
He was ordained in May 2011.
