It’s that time of year! Summer is here, which means BBQ’s, the beach, pool parties, and parish festivals. Here is a list of summer and fall parish fairs and festivals taking place in the diocese. June Festivals

St. Mary Magdalen Parish – Kentwood

Join us on the lawn for our free “1st Day of Summ……aaahhhhh & Longest Day in the Land Concert.” Enjoy the local legendary 60s/70s Frank Eimer Band along with the energetic and soulful keyboard talents of Sandra Effert. Bring a blanket, your own (musical) lawn chair, your classic car, tropical fashion, food, and beverage – or purchase a $5 special (sandwich, chips, beverage) from KBL Concessions. Enjoy our beautiful parish grounds and fabulous entertainment. Free family-friendly event – all are welcome.

St. Joseph Parish & St. Vincent Chapel – Hart (Weare)

Ox roast, raffles, church tours, photo booth, silent auction, kid’s games, craft booth, BINGO, baked goods and more.

St. Mary Magdalen Parish – Kentwood
St. Mary Magdalen Parish Festival
Date: July 19-21
Location: St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1253 52nd St. SE, Kentwood, MI 49508
Time: Friday afternoon/evening; Saturday 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. Mass, festival runs from after Mass through 4 p.m.
Friday events include Middle School/High School cookout and games; Saturday car show and women’s expo begins at 9 a.m. car show and the Women’s Expo until 2:00 pm under the tent behind the church. A Kentwood Fire Truck will be parked in the front parking lot. Sunday wraps up the weekend with music, dancing, and food immediately following 11 am Mass until 4 pm.

St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School & Parish – Grand Rapids
Cougar Dash 5k and Festival (Website)

Time: 5K begins at 6:30 p.m.; festival follows
Community 5K is a timed run with awards for the top male & female and top times in each age division. 5K registration is $30 (price increases after Sept. 2). Race registration includes t-shirt and 10 tickets for drinks, food, and activities at the festival. Festival highlights: family friendly activities, games, food and drinks! 5K runners and community members also have the opportunity to collect donations and win a prize for raising the most money!  Proceeds support the St. Paul the Apostle Home & School Organization, Elesplace A healing center for grieving children & teens and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School & Parish.
