On Saturday, June 4, Bishop Walkowiak ordained Deacons David Jameson, David Sacha and Logan Weber to the priesthood during Mass.

The ordination Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on June 4 at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, 301 Sheldon Blvd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI. The public was welcome to attend this joyous event, or to watch the live broadcast online.

Meet our new priests:

David A. Jameson

Father David A. Jameson, 41, is the son of Robert and Suzanne Jameson. His siblings are John and Paul. He is a member of the Basilica of St. Adalbert in Grand Rapids. He attended Arizona State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in 2005. Raised in a loving Evangelical Christian home, Deacon David entered the Catholic Church at the 2012 Easter Vigil Mass at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. He worked as an English teacher for several years prior to entering seminary formation. Father David received his Master of Divinity from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois, in spring 2022. He completed his pastoral internship at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Grand Rapids under the mentorship of Father Troy Nevins. He was ordained a transitional deacon on May 15, 2021 and ordained a priest on June 4, 2022.

Father David celebrated Masses of Thanksgiving at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, at the Basilica of St. Adalbert, 654 Davis Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, and at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1935 Plymouth Ave. SE, Grand Rapids.

Bishop Walkowiak has announced that following ordination, effective July 1, Father David is appointed parochial vicar of the Parish of the Holy Spirit in Grand Rapids.

 

 

David J. Sacha

Father David J. Sacha, 25, is the son of Steven and Donna Sacha. His siblings are Michael, Thomas, Andrew, Elizabeth and Mary. He is a member of St. Alphonsus Parish in Grand Rapids. After attending St. Isidore Catholic School, he was part of the second class to graduate from All Saints Academy in 2010. Following his graduation from West Catholic High School in 2014, he entered St. John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 2018. Father David received his Master of Divinity from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois, in spring 2022. He completed his pastoral internship at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Holland under the mentorship of Father Charles Brown. He was ordained a transitional deacon on May 15, 2021 and ordained a priest on June 4, 2022.

Father David celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 224 Carrier St. NE, Grand Rapids.

Bishop Walkowiak has announced that following ordination, effective July 1, Father David is appointed parochial vicar of the Basilica of St. Adalbert and St. Mary Parish in Grand Rapids. In addition to his assignment as parochial vicar, Father Sacha is appointed co-chaplain of West Catholic High School.

 

Logan C. Weber

Father Logan C. Weber, 27, is the son of Charles and Kimberly Weber. He has one sibling, Garrett. He is a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Greenville. He attended Ferris State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in 2016. He worked for a short amount of time at Ventura Manufacturing in Zeeland prior to entering seminary formation. Father Logan received his Master of Divinity from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary in Mundelein, Illinois, in spring 2022. He completed his pastoral internship at Our Lady of Consolation Parish in Rockford under the mentorship of Father Anthony Russo. He was ordained a transitional deacon on May 15, 2021 and ordained a priest on June 4, 2022.

Father Logan celebrated his Mass of Thanksgiving at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 505 Lafayette St., Greenville.

Bishop Walkowiak has announced that following ordination, effective July 1, Father Logan is appointed parochial vicar of St. Robert of Newminster Parish in Ada.

On May 21, Bishop Walkowiak ordained Christopher Epplett and Jacob Zemaitis to the order of deacon.
