Spanish Teacher  

Spanish teachers at CCHS will foster students in their ability to communicate in Spanish; recognize, appreciate, and respect the cultures, customs, and traditions of the peoples and regions where Spanish is spoken; understand the structure of the target language and how grammatical structure vary from language to language; and explore and understand the value and benefits of studying other languages and cultures.

Primary Responsibilities

In addition to content teaching, the selected candidate will:

  • Work as a servant leader of the Catholic faith and uphold values in word and action
  • Pursue professional growth and commit to being a lifelong learner
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and other school wide opportunities
  • Be flexible in scheduling and responsive to student and school needs
  • Implement curricula in collaboration with fellow team members
  • Strive to improve curriculum for the benefit of all students
  • Adapt lessons to reach all learners
  • Develop and administer a balance of traditional and authentic assessments that evaluate content knowledge and skills
  • Employ technology as a learning tool
  • Maintain classroom decorum, encouraging orderly and stimulating discussions and student participation
  • Provide support both in the classroom setting and during established office hours
  • Contribute to the school community outside of the classroom
  • Practicing Catholic preferred

Job Qualifications

The Spanish Teacher will be a person who has a dynamic personality, is organized, well rounded, engaging, and who seeks growth and collaboration inside and outside of the classroom.  Additionally, they will:

  • Hold a degree in and teaching certificate in Spanish.
  • Exhibit a strong interest in and concern for quality teaching, ideally with previous teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate an ability and commitment to furthering the Catholic mission and identity of the school.
