St. Mary’s School is seeking an aide for our preschool program for the 2024-25 school year. Our school, located on M104 in the Village of Spring Lake just over the bridge from Grand Haven, has been faithfully educating the lakeshore of West Michigan since 1954 according to the following mission:

A preschool teacher aide at St. Mary’s School is responsible for supporting the lead preschool teacher with managing a developmentally appropriate and quality preschool classroom according to the mission of St. Mary’s School.

Position Requirements
- Meet State of MI licensing requirements for childcare staff
- Maintain First Aid and CPR training
- Undergo background and criminal history check
- Virtus Trained or willing to become trained prior to working in the classroom
- Complete minimum of 16 hours of training as prescribed by the Preschool Director
Job Duties
- Encouraging the development of each student’s personal relationship with Christ.
- Supporting the lead teacher in maintaining a caring, faith-filled, and safe learning environment.
- Assisting the lead teacher in implementation of all classroom activities.
- Working cooperatively with other staff in the classroom.
- Assists children with personal hygiene as needed.
- Cleans classroom spaces and materials according to health and sanitation regulations.
- Communicates with caregivers under direction of the lead classroom teacher.
- Assist with supervision of Preschool Lunch Bunch.
- Actively supervises groups of children ages 3 – 11 years old in before and after school program.
- Leads students in active and engaging activities during their time in the after school program.
