Broad Statement of Responsibilities

The Assistant Facilities Supervisor is responsible for all cleaning and general upkeep of the church and school buildings for the three campuses of St. Catherine, St. Joseph, and St. Francis Xavier. This position will report to the Business Manager and work in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor as well as parish and school staff to ensure the appearance of each campus is well-maintained.

Specific Duties

  • Regularly cleans entire school and church complexes based on needs of each campus
  • Compiles cleaning supply inventory lists and communicate with Maintenance Supervisor to place supply orders, ensuring accurate and cost-effective ordering for each building
  • Mops and vacuums floors, cleans bathrooms, washes windows, and performs other cleaning activities as directed
  • Assists Maintenance Supervisor with light maintenance tasks as requested
  • Ensures timely and thorough completion of facilities upkeep requests communicated by Business Manager
  • Meets with Pastor and administrative staff for the parish and school on a monthly basis to discuss maintenance and custodial needs
  • Maintains and monitors cleaning schedule and needs based on parish and school events
  • Organizes and coordinates routine maintenance schedule and regulatory checks for licensing and state compliance at each campus
  • Other duties assigned by Pastor or Business Manager as needed

Qualifications

High School diploma, or GED equivalent work experience preferred
Prior experience with facility maintenance
Ability to work independently
Valid Michigan Driver’s license
