5th & 6th Grades Homeroom Teacher/Social Studies & Science Middle School Teacher

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in Greenville is looking for an exceptional person who wants to work with upper elementary and middle school students! We are looking for a teacher who wishes to share their love of Science and Social Studies across the middle school grades. This is a full-time position and includes the role of 5/6 Homeroom and Theology teacher, and instructing Social Studies and Science across the middle school grades.
Candidates must meet the following criteria
- Hold a current Michigan Teacher Certificate
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Practicing Catholic preferred, certified, or willing to complete catechetical certification
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Develop lesson plans along with instructional materials to provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
- Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Communicate regularly with parents outside the normal classroom day using newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, electronic devices, etc.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere
- Evaluate pupil’s academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports
- Identify pupil needs, make appropriate referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans
- Be available to students and parents for educational-related purposes outside the instructional day
- Create an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays and exhibits of student’s
work
