Thursday, October 14, 7-8:30 p.m.

Presented by Dr. Catherine Wright

Registration required. Choose to attend in-person or on Zoom.

Explore both the theological richness of integral ecology presented in Laudato Sí and how care for creation is a profoundly faithful way to be Catholic and live out Catholic Social Teaching – as individuals and collectively as church. Scripture and the Tradition of the Church pour meaning into the term ‘integral ecology’ and shape how Catholics can live faithfully and love abundantly in the 21st century. Time will be given for prayerful reflection, practical application, and meaningful discussion.

Catherine Wright, M.Div., Ph.D. is a transplanted Canadian Catholic ecotheologian who supports Creation Care Teams (CCTs) in her diocese and across the US as they strive to live the truths of Laudato Sí. She works at Wingate University (NC) as both the chair of the Religion and Philosophy Department and the executive director for the new center for innovation, community engagement and sustainable development on campus — the Collaborative for the Common Good. Her latest book is Caring for Our Common Home: A Practical Guide to Laudato Sí (Paulist Press, 2020) and recently she helped oversee the CCTs panel at the “Laudato Sí and the US Catholic Church Conference” hosted by Creighton University and Catholic Climate Covenant.
