Catholics across the diocese are invited to participate in “Diocesan Assembly 2023: Share Your Encounter.” This fourth annual Assembly will be offered in person and via livestream.
Responding to the call to a New Evangelization, we will reflect on the need to “share our encounter” relying on the words of St. John who wrote about the challenges and opportunities faced and embraced by the early disciples. “What we have seen and heard we proclaim now to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; for our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.” (1 John 1:3)
Indeed, all of us who have experienced and accepted the joy of the gospel should be willing and prepared to share the story of our new life in Christ. Let the example of St. Peter and St. John from the Acts of the Apostles inspire us to share our encounter. When told to remain silent and “not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus” they replied, “it is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:20)
Join us for this opportunity to strengthen and renew your zeal and commitment to know and love Jesus and the Church. Sessions will be presented concurrently in English and Spanish.
About the Keynote Speaker
Welcome back to West Michigan, Father René! Father René Constanza, CSP, is president of the Paulist Fathers. Prior to his election as president of the Paulists, Father René served as rector of the Cathedral of Saint Andrew and director of the Catholic Information Center (CIC) in Grand Rapids, and as associate pastor of St. Austin Church in Austin, Texas. He was ordained a priest on May 19, 2012. A native of Belize, he was a high school principal before entering the Paulist novitiate.

Se invita a los católicos de toda la diócesis a participar en la "Asamblea Diocesana 2023: “Platica tu Encuentro". Esta cuarta Asamblea anual se ofrecerá en persona y se transmitirá en vivo.
Respondiendo a la llamada a una Nueva Evangelización, este año reflexionaremos sobre la necesidad de "Platicar sobre nuestro encuentro" basándonos en las palabras que San Juan escribió sobre los retos y oportunidades a los que se enfrentaron y abrazaron los primeros discípulos. "Lo que hemos visto y oído, eso les anunciamos para que también ustedes estén en comunión con nosotros. Nosotros estamos en comunión con el Padre y con su Hijo, Jesucristo." (1 Juan 1:3)
De hecho, todos los que hemos experimentado y aceptado la alegría del Evangelio deberíamos estar dispuestos y preparados para platicar sobre nuestra historia y nueva vida en Cristo. Dejemos que el ejemplo de San Pedro y San Juan en los Hechos de los Apóstoles nos inspire a compartir nuestro encuentro. Cuando se les mandó callar y "no hablar ni enseñar nada en nombre de Jesús", respondieron: "Nosotros no podemos dejar de hablar de lo que hemos visto y oído." (Hechos 4:20)
Acompáñenos para una oportunidad de fortalecer y renovar nuestro celo y compromiso de conocer y amar a Jesús y la Iglesia. Las sesiones presenciales y en vivo se presentarán simultáneamente en inglés y español.
Acerca del Orador Principal
¡Bienvenido de nuevo al Oeste de Michigan, Padre René! El Padre René Constanza, CSP, es el presidente de los Padres Paulistas. Antes de su elección como presidente de los Paulistas, el Padre René sirvió como rector de la Catedral de San Andrés y director del Centro de Información Católica en Grand Rapids, y como párroco asociado de la Iglesia de San Austin (o Agustín de Canterbury) en Austin, Texas. El padre René fue ordenado sacerdote el 19 de mayo del 2012. Es originario de Belice y fue Director de una Escuela Secundaria/Preparatoria antes de ingresar en el noviciado paulista.
