During this season of Advent—a time of joyful anticipation— the Catholic Central Board of Directors and Presidental Search Committee is delighted to announce that Greg Deja will serve as the next president of Catholic Central High School, beginning Jan. 21, 2025.

Greg previously served Catholic Central in roles as assistant principal, principal, and principal/CEO from 2009 to 2020. He returns to Catholic Central with a wealth of additional experience gained during his time as the executive director of the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan (CFWM). In this role, Greg provided visionary leadership, more than doubling the assets under management, increasing annual grantmaking by 66%, and growing the number of charitable funds significantly. Teresa Reid will serve as interim director of the Foundation. A search process to identify the next executive director of the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan will commence after the new year.

As president, Greg will focus on long-term strategic and financial planning, advancing Catholic Central’s mission, institutional growth, and community engagement. One of his first priorities will be leading the search for a principal to oversee daily operations, faith formation, academics, and student affairs under our president/principal model.

A special thanks to the Presidential Search Committee and the Catholic Central Board of Directors for their thoughtful work in identifying the best leader for our community. Also, thank you to the current president, Terry Tyrrell, for his steadfast leadership over the past three and a half years. Terry’s commitment to Catholic Central during this time of transition has been a gift to us all.  As his tenure concludes, he will reunite with his family in Milwaukee.

Please keep Greg, his family, and the Catholic Central community in your prayers as they embark on this new chapter at the beginning of the second semester together.  More information about opportunities to meet Greg and hear his vision for the future will be shared in the coming weeks.

Please join us in prayer during this important transition.
