Celebrated over four weeks, this year from Dec. 1 to Dec. 24, Advent is a time of joyful preparation and conversion leading up to Christmas day and the season of Christmas that follows. Advent is also a wonderful time to return to the Church. If you’ve been away, we invite you to consider coming back during the seasons of Advent and Christmas. Jesus awaits you with open arms and so do we!

A Reason and a Season for Hope
The beginning of each new liturgical year brings good news of Christ’s coming. For Christians, the Church’s year begins with Advent, when we we direct our hearts and minds to the anniversary of our Lord’s birth on Christmas and to Christ’s second coming at the end of time. During Advent, we remember our reason to hope; we are assured in a most overwhelming way that God always keeps his promises; for on that first Christmas, He sent his only Son Jesus, the long-awaited fulfillment of God’s promise of salvation.
Jesus was not born into comfort and security. He chose to share our human trials, becoming one with us. If we follow the light of Christ, we will know peace and joy even though we don’t yet see the fullness of his promises.
