Every year on the second Sunday after Pentecost, the Church observes the solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, which translates from Latin to “body of Christ.” The main purpose of this feast is to turn our focus to two manifestations of the body of Christ: the holy Eucharist and the Church.
The Church in the U.S. is currently engaged in a National Eucharistic Revival to help restore Catholics’ understanding of and devotion to this great mystery.

The feast of Corpus Christi presents us with the ideal opportunity for eucharistic procession, the witness of the veneration toward the most holy Eucharist, conducted through public streets. These are opportunities to actively and visibly bring Jesus outside the walls of our churches and into the streets of our local communities. Several of our parishes will be participating in this public veneration of our Eucharistic Lord this weekend. All are welcome!

St. Luke University, Allendale
Come for Mass at 10:30 a.m. followed by a eucharistic procession.
St. Mary-St. Paul, Big Rapids
Come for Mass at 11 a.m. on June 2 at St. Paul’s followed by the procession which will wind through Ferris State University’s campus and then through the town concluding at St. Mary Church. The procession will be followed by 151 consecutive hours of adoration in honor of St. Mary’s 151 years as a parish.
St. John Paull II, Cedar Springs
Eucharistic procession and adoration: June 2, 11:30 a.m.
We will have a short procession of the Blessed Sacrament, transferring from the church to the chapel where we will have eucharistic adoration from 11:30 a.m. -2:45 p.m., with the Divine Mercy Chaplet from 2:45-3 p.m. If you would like to sign up for an hour of adoration, please contact Maggie in the parish office.
Basilica of St. Adalbert, Grand Rapids
Join in a solemn eucharistic procession on June 2, immediately after the 11 a.m. Mass. We will process to St. Mary Church, Grand Rapids, stay for brief devotions there, then return to the Basilica for Solemn Benediction. All are invited and encouraged to attend and witness to our Eucharistic faith!
Cathedral of Saint Andrew, Grand Rapids
On June 2, you and your family are invited to join a eucharistic procession to continue the Eucharistic Revival. The procession will take place immediately after noon Mass at the Cathedral (Mass is in Spanish, the procession will be bilingual). The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi, bears witness to our belief in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Everyone is welcome to join in this special occasion.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, Grand Rapids
Join the parish community for Mass at 11:30 a.m. on June 2 followed by the procession (around 1 p.m.). Stay for an outdoor reception afterward.
Ss. Peter & Paul, Grand Rapids
The parish will celebrate Mass on June 2 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the procession. Stay for breakfast and fellowship afterward.
St. Isidore, Grand Rapids
Come for Mass on June 2 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the procession around level streets on the east side of the church with singing and prayer. The procession will take about an hour.
St. Charles, Greenville
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on June 2 followed by the procession.
Our Lady of the Lake, Holland
The main procession will be held on June 2 following the 11 a.m. Mass. Stay for an ice cream social afterward. Two additional shorter processions will be held following the 5 p.m. Mass on June 1 and the 9 a.m. Mass on June 2. Visit their Corpus Christi web page for more details.
St. Mary, Lowell
On June 2, St. Mary Parish will have Mass at 10:30 a.m. followed by a procession through the city. A reception will take place at the church afterward.
St. Ignatius, Luther
On June 2, join the parish community at St. Ignatius Chapel for Mass at 9:30 a.m. followed by a eucharistic procession.
St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception, Muskegon
The day’s celebration begins at 3 p.m. at St. Michael Church (6th Street) with adoratoin and Divine Mercy Chaplet followed by the procession starting at 3:20 p.m. from St. Michael to St. Mary. Four altars (Polish, Hispanic, Irish and American altars) will be set up along the route. Stay for Mass at 5 p.m. at St. Mary. Afterward join the parish community for a dinner celebration in their courtyard, especially to hnor all the first holy communicants. RSVP for the procession and dinner required.
St. Patrick, Parnell (Ada)
Join the parish community on June 2 for Mass at 10:30 a.m. followed by the procession. Participants will process around the parish campus, have a short period of adoration at the grotto in the cemetery and then finish back in the church.
St. Joseph, Pewamo
Join the parish community on June 2 for Mass at 10 a.m. followed by the procession.
St. Mary, Spring Lake
11 a.m. Mass followed by the procession at noon. All are invited to join in the joyous feast of Corpus Christi procession emanating from the Mass as the Body of Christ is carried through downtown Spring Lake to Tanglefoot Park led by Father Bill. St. Joseph, White Cloud
On June 2 after the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Church, St. Joseph Parish along with all parishes in Newaygo County will be having a eucharistic procession. Wheelchairs will be available and a luncheon will be served after the procession. All are welcome.
