Consecrated Virginity
The dignity and vocation of women is realized in a special way through consecrated virginity.Consecrated virginity within the world is different from the lives of active religious sisters who live out vows of poverty and obedience within a religious community. Under the guidance of their bishop, consecrated virgins develop a plan or rule of life that will best allow them to serve the Church according to their own natural and spiritual gifts. Through their life among us in the world, consecrated virgins are a sign of the Church's love for Christ and of the life that will be ours in the kingdom of heaven.
To learn more, visit the United States Association of Consecrated Virgins website, or contact Marge Giesken, a consecrated virgin living and serving in our diocese, at [email protected].
