Pope Francis has named Reverend Jeffrey J. Walsh as the sixth bishop of the Diocese of Gaylord. His episcopal ordination and installation has been set for March 4, 2022. (Read more on the Diocese of Gaylord website.)

The Diocese of Grand Rapids’ Office of Communications issues the following statement from Most Reverend David J. Walkowiak, bishop of Grand Rapids:

“With the clergy and Catholics throughout the Diocese of Grand Rapids, I offer congratulations to the faithful of the Diocese of Gaylord and a warm welcome to Father Jeffrey Walsh upon his appointment as the sixth bishop of the Diocese of Gaylord. I look forward to collaborating with Bishop-elect Walsh as he joins the Catholic Bishops of Michigan.

I invite the people of West Michigan to join with me and the faithful of the Diocese of Gaylord in praying for Bishop-elect Walsh as he prepares for his ordination and installation in March.”
