The Catholic Parish Family of Holy Redeemer, Jenison, Michigan is searching for a Director of Music Ministry (DMM) responsible for music at weekend liturgies, Holy Days, weddings, funerals, sacramental celebrations, and parish ministries.
The DMM is responsible to call forth the gifts of the parish community through involvement in choirs, as musicians, and active participation of the assembly during Mass. The DMM is responsible for preparation of choirs, cantors, and music groups to ensure proper musical accompaniments for all liturgies.
The DMM must have at least a bachelor’s degree in music (Sacred or Liturgical preferred) with experience in Roman Catholic liturgy and liturgical music. The DMM is skilled in piano and organ.
This is a full-time position and is eligible for benefits. Salary is commensurate with skill, education, and experience.
Music Ministry: The parish offers a private office space and rehearsal room with an electronic keyboard, storage closets and music library. There is a grand piano and organ in the sanctuary. Experienced musicians, vocalists, and a Bell Choir are active in the parish’s music ministry.
Applicants: All interested persons should be prayerful, practicing Catholics, with a desire to share their faith and invite others to know the love of Jesus Christ. The parish desires to hire someone who is capable and willing to create a diverse and dynamic music ministry program that includes (but is not limited to) an adult choir, youth choir, children’s choir, hand bell ensemble, and an integration of other musicians into the ministry. Applicants should work well as a team member and seek to foster and enrich the faith life of those who worship at our parish.
