The Catholic Foundation of West Michigan, (CFWM), an independent 501 (c) 3 operating foundation within the Diocese of Grand Rapids, Michigan, is hiring its first full-time stewardship officer to build relationships with donors and Catholic ministries and design engagement experiences that occur once generosity has been offered to The Foundation. This position is inspired by gifts to the Our Shepherds – Our Future Capital Campaign, as well as the recently approved, donor-centric 2020-2022 strategic plan for The Foundation.
Reporting to the executive director, the stewardship officer will develop a donor stewardship strategy of engagement and follow-up, respectfully managing donor intentions in their giving; providing timely and accurate gift acknowledgement letters and receipts, honoring donor intent, and conveying the stories of impact from the Catholic generosity received throughout West Michigan.
Established in 1995, The Catholic Foundation of West Michigan is one of the top 50 independent Catholic community foundations across the United States. The Foundation currently manages hundreds of permanent endowments and funds and is expanding its offering of new fund types to donors and organizations. The Foundation stewards $66M in assets and currently distributes more than $2.2M in annual grants to benefit a number of parishes, schools, agencies, and ministries throughout our community.
The stewardship officer should be a practicing member of the Roman Catholic Church who supports the philosophy, values, and mission of the Catholic Church and that of the Diocese of Grand Rapids. Read a full description of the position here.
