Principal Grades 7-12

Qualifications
• Possession of a Master’s Degree or higher in educational administration, educational leadership or a similar field
• Possession of a currently valid Michigan teaching certificate
• Evidence of successful middle and/or high classroom teaching experience and successful experience in school leadership
• Practicing Catholic
• Role model and teacher of the Catholic Faith
• Demonstrates these skills and attributes: a servant leader, a communicator, one has confidence and also builds confidence, a person with strong integrity who has the ability to build and lift up others and situations, and someone who exudes positivity and values a Catholic faith-based educational experience

Reports To
President of MCC

Essential Functions
(This job posting is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for the position)
1. Commits to high visibility and daily communication with all stakeholders (staff, students, parents, community, media, etc.) using multiple forms of communication
2. Implements Catholic principles into all facets of the school community
3. Designs opportunities to empower students, staff, and parents to be integrally involved in all aspects of the school’s Catholic culture and climate
4. Makes periodic evaluation of curriculum materials for all subjects taught within grades 7 to 12
5. Maintains a relationship with the Diocese of Grand Rapids and Catholic School organizations to ensure MCC involvement in the “larger” Catholic community.
6. Interprets programs, policies, and makes presentations to students, parents, staff, community members, and governmental agencies on behalf of the school
7. Completes teacher evaluations to ensure both rigor and best practice is occurring in all classrooms
8. Analyzes and shares student data and educational research as the foundational principles of Professional Learning Communities
9. Supervises and evaluates the staff in the middle and high school in accordance with MCC Policy standards approved by the Board of Trustees
10. Monitors student behavior and addresses major code of conduct violations in accordance with the student handbook

• Terms This is a full-time, 52-week position with full benefits
• Salary Range Commensurate with credentials and level of experience in accordance with MCC’s operating budget
