POSITION Campus Minister
REPORTS TO President

Under the supervision of the President and in consultation with the Principals, the campus minister helps create a Mission centric environment (Pre-K to 12th grade) which encourages and guides all members to contribute to the Catholic Identity of the school. The Campus Minister fosters the personal and spiritual growth of the students, faculty, staff, and parents by communicating the power of the Gospel, empowering them to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, and draw them to responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the MCC faith community. In collaboration with the administration, faculty, staff, parents, and students, the Campus Minister provides leadership in the ministerial, liturgical, pastoral and spiritual life of Muskegon Catholic  Central.

QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s Degree in Theology or Religious Studies or appropriate field from an accredited college
● Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate recommended
● Experience in Catholic youth ministry or working with youth in a high school, college, or parish setting
● Must be an active practicing Catholic
● Understand, embrace, and be able to articulate the mission and vision of Muskegon Catholic Central
● Ability to work independently as well as in a team  environment
● Must be able to take initiative and build and maintain a strong rapport and positive relationships with students, faculty, campus chaplains, and parents
● Energetic team player who works well in collaborative situations
● Strong communication and organizational skills
● Willingness to work flexible hours (nights and weekends)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
● Facilitate an atmosphere of Christian hospitality where all feel welcome, based on Catholic faith traditions and rituals
● Work in cooperation and collaboration with the co-chaplains, Religion faculty, students, and staff to enhance the spiritual and prayer life of the school.
● Provide opportunities for others to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ
● Organize, plan, and implement effective retreat/day of recollection programs for students, faculty, staff and parents that empowers all as believers and disciples
● Serve as moderator and mentor for Wings
● Encourage and increase student participation and leadership
● Provide opportunities for students, faculty and staff to celebrate the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist and Reconciliation, including penance services during Advent and Lent
● Coordinate liturgical celebrations including weekly school-wide or class Masses, daily  Masses, Weekly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Stations of the Cross during Lent, and faculty Masses with the principals, the chaplain, and/or local priests
● Infuses concepts of justice, peace, human dignity and integrity of creation into all aspects of ministry
● Provides opportunities for students to lead various activities to be prepared for vocation and leadership roles
● Enhances the relationships and collaborates with local parishes and their youth ministry leaders and programs

● TERMS Full time salaried position with  benefits
● SALARY RANGE Commensurate with credentials and level of experience in accordance with MCC’s operating budget
