The Diocese of Grand Rapids is seeking to fill the part-time position of Administrative Assistant, Prison and Jail Ministry at the Diocesan level (variable hours from 12 to a maximum of 19 hours per week).

This position provides clerical and administrative support to the Prison and Jail Ministry and helps to maintain and grow Catholic services within the 23 correctional facilities located throughout the diocese.

Applicants must be a skilled office professional with a minimum of two years administrative and ministry experience with an Associate or Bachelor Degree in related field preferred. Proficiency in web based marketing and volunteer management software programs such as Constant Contact and Sign Up Genius strongly preferred. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SharePoint required. Proficiency in WordPress helpful. Must be able to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality with strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Self-motivated, outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail is needed. Candidates must have knowledge of and support of the mission of Prison and Jail Ministry and be able to work directly with program volunteers, chaplains and facility personal with a range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Requires knowledge of the Catholic Church’s structures, functions and institutions. Fluency in Spanish and English helpful.
